Project and Over-dimensional Cargo
Single high-value or oversized consignments moving to a project site, often with lifting, storage and erection in the same journey.

First thing, todayStop the movement, photograph the load in place, and get the insurer's surveyor to the site before anything is lifted again.

- Notice to the transporter in writing, within the time your policy sets.
- Every document within the time the insurer asks for it.
When you would claim
- Damage during loading, lashing, lifting or unloading
- Overturning or impact on a route survey road
- Damage during storage at site before erection
- Loss during test and commissioning where the cover extends
What insurers most often rely on
- Movement outside the surveyed route or without the agreed escort
- Lifting done otherwise than in accordance with the lifting plan
- Storage at site beyond the period the policy allows
- Damage said to be a design or manufacturing defect
On a transit claim most of them come down to a notice that was given in time or was not, which is a matter of record either way.
The documents
half of it belongs to the carrier10 items, and the carrier's papers matter here as much as the insurer's. Most of this list exists to prove the goods left whole and did not arrive that way.
- Claim form and the policy, including the route survey report
- Invoice, packing list and the lifting plan
- Photographs at each stage: despatch, transit, site and damage
- Transporter's agreement and the lorry receipt
- Third-party surveyor's report on the cause
- Manufacturer's assessment of repairability
- Estimate for repair or replacement, including re-transport
- Cancelled cheque and bank details in the insured's name, for the NEFT payment
- Details of any other insurance covering the same risk
- A claim bill: the amount claimed, itemised, with the working behind it
