A client's claim has stalled. Send it here.
For chartered accountants, bank managers, lawyers and association secretaries. We take claims on policies we did not place, work alongside whoever placed them, and the client stays yours.
In one lineWhen a client's insurance claim is stuck, reduced or refused, refer it to Claims Desk: the desk takes claims on any insurer's policy, whoever placed it, and with the client's consent tells you when the file opens and when it closes.
When to refer
the signs- The insurer has not appointed a surveyor, or the survey report has not been shared.
- The claim has been open longer than the client expected and nobody is explaining why.
- An offer has come in lower than the loss, or a repudiation letter has arrived.
- A deadline is close: a notice to a transporter, a reply to a query, an appeal.
- The agent or advisor who placed the policy can no longer be reached.
What happens
in order- Send one lineThe client's name, a number, and what happened. WhatsApp or email.
- The desk calls the clientThe same working day, and opens a file.
- The basis is agreed firstOn a policy RFS placed there is no separate fee. On any other policy the basis is agreed in writing before any work starts.
- You hear backWith the client's consent: when the file opens, and when it closes.
Who refers
and why- Chartered accountants, who see the loss in the books before anyone else does.
- Bank managers, where the bank is named on the policy and the claim decides what happens to the loan.
- Lawyers, before a dispute goes to a commission or a court.
- Trade associations, when a member's fire, flood or cargo loss is being argued.
